This family bathroom was designed to feel fun, vibrant, and adaptable — a space that can grow alongside the family while still offering a sense of calm. Storage played a key role in the design (as it always does in family homes), but beyond functionality, the goal was to create a small sanctuary within the house. The use of colour, tile choices, and thoughtful layout brings energy to the space while maintaining a balanced and welcoming feel.

From a photography perspective, this project was about capturing that balance between playfulness and practicality. The focus was on highlighting the tile work, colour contrasts, and how the space is organised, using clean compositions and controlled light to present the design clearly. Completed in a half-day photoshoot for locations focused on still photography, the aim was to deliver a strong set of images that the designer can use across their website, social media, and marketing material.

What should professional photography highlight in a bathroom and tile-focused interior design project?

Professional photography is essential for bathroom and tile-focused interiors because these spaces rely heavily on detail, texture, and material quality. Tiles in particular can change dramatically depending on light, angle, and reflection, so accurate photography is key to showing the true design intent.

High-quality interior photography helps designers and brands communicate not just the layout of a bathroom, but the atmosphere it creates. It highlights craftsmanship, finish quality, and how materials interact within the space — helping potential clients understand both the functional and emotional value of the design.
